PATHETIC FALLACY

Asher and Iris are madly in love. After Iris succumbs to cancer, Asher is wracked with grief, searching for answers, wishing he had been taken instead of her. In his quest to reconnect with her, he stumbles into an alternate universe filled with homicidal maniacs, talking creatures, and one very cool dive bar. He’s given a tempting offer: try to cheat death and bring her back… but at what cost?

Director Adam Egypt Mortimer (DANIEL ISN’T REAL, ARCHENEMY) is no stranger to crafting mind-bending tales, and he’s brought the full force of his talent to crafting PATHETIC FALLACY. Wildly imaginative and incredibly touching, the film is filled with psychedelic visuals and propulsive action, all shot on 35mm.

Anchoring the film are incredible performances from Jessica Rothe and Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi, whose onscreen chemistry is palpable. The two also lend their vocal talents to the incredible soundtrack by Johnny Jewel, which serves as the backbone of the film. PATHETIC FALLACY is by turns exhilarating, heartbreaking, hilarious—and most of all, human. (LISA DREYER)
